Mr Erdy Izwan bin Sohardi

Erdy Izwan bin Sohardi is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and Clinical Director with over 14 years of experience in developmental disabilities and autism intervention. He is currently a PhD candidate in Occupational Therapy, with a Master’s degree specialising in developmental disabilities. His expertise includes sensory integration, DIRFloortime, parent-mediated intervention, and behavioural approaches. He is a certified trainer in World Health Organization (WHO) Caregiver Skills Training and holds multiple professional certifications in autism-related interventions. Erdy is actively involved in clinical programme development and community-based support, contributing to improving outcomes for children with diverse developmental and learning needs in Sarawak.

Multisensory Reading Intervention for Children with Reading Difficulties
Associate Professor Dr Julia Lee Ai Cheng
Educational Psychology,
Faculty of Cognitive Science and Human Development, UNIMAS
Dr Julia Lee is an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) with expertise in special education and educational psychology. She holds a PhD in Special Education from Florida State University, an MSc in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a BSc in Computing Science from Staffordshire University.
Her work focuses on early identification and intervention of reading difficulties, language and literacy development among young learners, and the use of technology in learning support. She is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Applied Practice, and the Orton-Gillingham methodology, and is the founder of READi for kids.

Dr. Mohd Nazir bin Mohd Nazori
Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences,
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)
Dr. Mohd Nazir bin Mohd Nazori, Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences and a registered counsellor since 2018.Experienced in advocacy, counselling services, and training related to mental health for government and private institutions such as Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN), the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), the Securities Commission, schools, and universities. His expertise focuses on mental health promotion from the perspective of positive psychology.
WORKSHOP B [DAY 2]:
Speech Intervention
Ms. Hii Siew Mee
Speech Therapist,
Government Health Clinic Petra Jaya
Ms Hii Siew Mee is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Bachelor of Health Science (Hons) in Speech Pathology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and a member of Malaysian Association of Speech-Language & Hearing (MASH). She has experience working in both private and government healthcare settings, currently serving at the Government Health Clinic Petra Jaya.
Her expertise includes assessment and intervention for speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across all age groups. She adopts a family-centred approach, working closely with patients and caregivers to achieve optimal outcomes. Ms Hii is also actively involved in community outreach, promoting early intervention through screenings and public awareness programmes.
